The bombing of Bangkok, was carried out by the Allied Air Forces during the Pacific campaigns of World War II. Allied air raids on Bangkok began in 1944. They intended to pressure the Thai government to withdraw from their alliance with Japan as well as destroy a major source of Japanese armaments. Major targets of the bombings were the newly completed Port of Bangkok and the Thai railway system established years ago by the British.
